We are looking for a Backend Scala Engineer to join our Modis IT team, our chosen candidate would work onsite at our client located in Hilversum.
Responsibilities
- Assesses a well-defined problem and works on the development of a technical solution that meets the needs of the business and aligns with architectural standards.
- Participates in design sessions and provides inputs for integration of ideas
- Ensures knowledge sharing within the team
- Presents and shares work with colleagues for mutual review and education
- Functions independently, with limited work direction
- Works with product owner to understand requirements.
- Participates in sprint planning and other scrum ceremonies.
- Works with other technical teams to develop new features.
- Works in Dev-ops model
Qualifications
- 5+ years of server-side software development experience
- 3+ years of experience in programming, in (but not restricted to) Scala
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS)
- Solid expertise in building scalable, distributed, loosely coupled systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with micro services architectures
- Experience developing RESTful services
- Experience with continuous integration, unit and integration testing
- Knowledge of Scrum and agile principles
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
