Minneapolis has one of the most stable economic bases in the country, and includes global leaders within its broad, successful business community. In order to serve its community better, the City of Minneapolis designed a project to align data needs with business requirements. Modis provided project management for this engagement.
Modis’ project manager (PM) worked with a team from the City to analyze, prioritize and facilitate database changes. The PM documented, developed and published the data team’s project plan, data analysis documentation and data models/schemas for implementation. Deliverables for the scope of services included a detailed project plan for implementation of changes, summary of action Items, risks, technical & business requirements analysis and more.
The Los Angeles Public Library is a system of 72 branches throughout the city, serving one of the largest and most diverse populations in the U.S. The library needed technical staff to perform HP NonStop (Tandem) platform-related services. One of the library’s major goals was to maintain delivery of electronic information services to the public, and this platform played a critical part in accomplishing that goal.
Included among these resources were more than 150 subscription research databases, eBooks, online reference services and the library’s own catalog of more than 6 million items. The library selected Modis as a prime vendor to provide the staff to support this contract. Our consultants played key roles in tackling the vital issues of the library’s website and extensive database access.
