Introduction

We are now looking for a freelance BSS/RNC radio design engineer to work on a long term project with one of our clients based in Brussels.

Our client is a large, multinational organization (mobile operator) which is now experienceing a huge boost in their activities. They will be rolling out several large scale projects and due to an increased workload they will need additional people on board. Your goal will be to design and the RAN network to accomodate new vendor features

You will be working in an exciting and dynamic environment in an international team of RAN experts.

Function information

- Developing and reviewing high and low level designs for the different nodes in the BSS/RNC Network (architecture, new features, new technologies)

- Translating capacity and performance requirements into technical specifications and Network roadmaps (payload and control plane)

- Undertaking BSS/RNC signalling capacity planning

- Ensure the best BSS/RNC Network Service performance and optimization

- review and propose best parameter settings evolution with vendors and local networks

- Determine best network solutions dependent on issues such as competition, terminal implementation limitations etc.

- Create high level designs (HLD) and Low Level Designs (LLD)

- Create a (high level) Project plan.

- Ensure timeliness & quality delivery of the HLD and LLD to the stakeholders.

- Ensure operational readiness of the organization i.e. Prepare test report, KPI definition and Operational handover.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience working as a Design Engineer in BSS/RNC signalling capacity planning

  • Understanding and verification of logfiles, test cases, upgrade procedures
  • Analysing and solving 3rd Level Support trouble tickets

• Experience in parameter optimisations.

• Previous experience of Test Trials for new functionality and features

• Provide recommendations to improve network performance.

• Have sufficient RAN system expertise to challenge Vendor parameter definitions

• Make parameter and system recommendations to the Radio Access Network manager.

• Capable of driving research teams on operational development projects.
