We are looking for an ISS Utilization Management Support (M2) to join our Modis Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands.

General tasks to be performed:

1. Administration of the Joint Mission Management Team (JMMT)

  • Planning and organization of the meeting
  • Compilation and distribution of the agenda
  • Generation / review of Minutes of Meeting and action item list
  • Action item tracking and follow-up

2. Coordinating the preparation and submission of papers for EUB/HESAC/PB

  • Coordination of preparation and internal review process
  • Schedule and document readiness tracking
  • Compilation and editing of documents
  • Support to document generation (e.g. generation of flow charts, graphics etc.)
  • Proof-reading
  • Document delivery:

o Recurrent documents (eg Utilisation Oral Report presentation, Current status and future Announcements of Opportunity presentation, Annual Report on ISS resources )

o Recurrent inputs to higher level documents (eg Research and utilization chapter in the quarterly report to PB-HME, Inputs to the D/HRE presentation to PB-HME, Research and utilization chapter in the quarterly report to Council, Inputs to the D/HRE presentation to HESAC)

o non-recurrent topic specific documents to be defined ad-hoc

3. Coordinating the preparation and submission of fiches for the work plan:

  • Coordination of preparation and internal review process
  • Schedule and document readiness tracking
  • Support to document generation
  • Proof-reading
  • Delivery of the fiches for the work plan (per work plan revision)

4. Administration of the weekly and additional ad-hoc Group Meetings;

  • Planning and organization of the meetings
  • Compilation and distribution of the agenda
  • Generation, review and tracking of the action items and record of decision
  • Minutes of Meeting if required

5. Administration of technical meetings and reviews

  • Planning and organization of the meeting / review
  • Compilation and distribution of the agenda
  • Generation / review of Minutes of Meeting and action item list
  • Action item tracking and follow-up

6. Preparation of events, workshops and multilateral meetings (e.g. RPWG, UOP, SOP):

  • Venue and logistics arrangement
  • Overall coordination and organization
  • Compilation of agenda in close coordination with the respective panel and / or working group chair
  • Generation of Minutes of Meeting and compilation of results
  • Follow-up actions
  • Logistics and travel support to the international partners as need

About ESA-ESTEC

The European Space Agency (ESA) has sites in several European countries. The European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) is the largest site and the technical heart of ESA. This nursery of European space activities is located in Noordwijk, Netherlands.

At ESTEC, about 2500 engineers, technicians and scientists work hands-on with mission design, spacecraft and space technology.

Almost all ESA projects - except launchers - are managed from ESTEC. In Noordwijk, people work on science missions, manned space missions, Earth observation, telecommunications and navigation satellites.

ESTEC provides extensive testing facilities to verify the proper operation of spacecraft, such as the Large Space Simulator (LSS), acoustic and electromagnetic testing bays, multi-axis vibration tables and the ESA Propulsion Laboratory (EPL).

Functie-eisen

To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background / experience is required:

  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken; and knowledge of another official ESA language is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Open minded working attitude
  • Proven record in producing high quality technical documents
  • Experience with document editing software
  • Experience working in international technical environment
  • Expert knowledge with modern electronics office automation tools in particular Microsoft Office suite and electronic mailing
  • Ability to prioritize activities to achieve the deliverable required.
