Engineer of the year

This new award born from the Formula E and Modis partnership celebrates the crucial role of engineers in motorsport.

Motor racing does not concern pilots only and exclusively. Behind the scenes, there is a large team of engineers, analysts, mechanics and managers who meticulously hold the ABB Formula E championship.
"Engineers are the unsung heroes of the championship and we wanted to celebrate the vital contribution they have made to the success of electronic races." Alain Dehaze, global CEO of The Adecco Group.

With this award, ABB Formula E recognizes the importance of all the people who work to make it possible for the races to take place.

This year's championship ended after seeing Team Techeetah stand out on several fronts, with Jean Eric Vergne winning as pilot and Léo Thomas as "Engineer of the Year".
The jury elected Léo Thomas unanimously. In particular, the implementation, carried out by Thomas, of a hyper realistic race simulator that gave the Techeetah team a strong competitive advantage for the preparation of the various races throughout the season was considered winning. Thomas has therefore received a scholarship worth 20,000 euros funded by Modis, of which half is to be spent on training courses at General Assembly, an American digital training company that has been part of The Adecco Group since April 2018 .
